This page outlines our Catering Terms & Conditions, providing essential information on booking procedures, service specifics, cancellation policies, and more. Understanding these terms will help us provide you with the best possible service for your event.

Terms & Conditions:

 

1. Ordering and Lead Time:

  • All orders require a lead time of 2-3 weeks; a minimum of 5 days is necessary. While we sometimes can accommodate shorter lead times, this depends on existing bookings and events around the date of the order. The more lead time you provide, the better the chances of securing your booking.

 

2. Order Acceptance:

  • We reserve the right to decline orders we feel we cannot accommodate due to factors such as design complexity, booking availability, budget constraints, delivery schedule, or notice given for the event.

 

3. Payment:

  • 3.1 Deposit and Cancellation:

    • A 50% deposit is due upon placement of order.
    • The balance is due one week before delivery. Work will commence only after full payment. Please note that some preparations start well in advance.
    • Deposits are non-refundable.
    • No refunds will be given for orders cancelled within one week of the event.
  • 3.2 Small or Late Orders:

    • For late orders or orders under the value of R1500, full payment must be made upon receipt of the invoice.

 

4. Delivery & Collection:

  • 4.1 Collection:

    • A mutual agreement must be reached regarding the collection time. If the order is not collected within 30 minutes of the agreed time, a new collection time or date will need to be arranged.
    • We recommend that cakes be served within 48 hours of collection. Upon collection, risk passes to the client once the cake has been handed over.
    • We provide all necessary details to ensure a safe transfer from collection to destination.
    • We accept no responsibility for any damages or deterioration due to unfavourable conditions during transport or storage.
  • 4.2 Delivery:

    • Complete details regarding the date, venue, and time of delivery must be provided.
    • Delivery times are accommodated as best as our schedule allows and are charged at a tiered rate based on distance from our premises in Linden. We reserve the right to deny delivery based on distance and the quoted cake amount. The delivery date is guaranteed, but the exact time is not! Delivery charges are subject to change.
    • A picture will be taken at the point of delivery, whether set up or handed over to event staff.
    • We are not responsible for any damages or deterioration due to unfavourable conditions at the venue. This includes adverse weather conditions, proximity to heat sources, etc.
    • We provide venue staff with setup instructions, which must be adhered to once responsibility has been handed over to the venue and, subsequently, the client.

 

5. Non-Edible Decorations, Fresh Flowers, Foliage, and Structure:

  • Our cakes may include non-edible elements such as sugar flowers, dowels, cake boards, and toppers. While these are common practices in our industry, we ensure detailed instructions are given where possible.
  • Fresh flowers and foliage are generally not edible, with exceptions like dried rose petals and small pansies; however, larger flowers are not.
  • We cannot always guarantee the exact type, color, or replication of flowers shown in images but will attempt to match them with available seasonal flowers.
  • If clients prefer to source flowers through their florist, this can ensure satisfaction with the floral choices.

 

6. Rental, Hiring of Stands, and Staff Set-Up:

  • A refundable deposit is required for any equipment hired or delivered, refunded only if all goods are returned in the same condition.
  • All stands and equipment must be returned within 7 days of the event. Arrangements for collection must be made in advance and come at an extra fee.
  • Once stands are in the client’s possession, their maintenance is the client’s responsibility.

 

7. Other Terms & Conditions:

  • If our products are used in photoshoots or product displays, we reserve the rights to these images and brand recognition.
  • Designs may not be altered during styled photoshoots or published without consent.
  • We cannot guarantee a nut/egg/allergy-free environment. While we adhere to allergy precautions when notified, our products are made in a kitchen that contains nuts, dairy, eggs, gluten, and soya.
  • We advise storing cakes in the refrigerator until an hour before serving to bring them to room temperature. Cakes should not be exposed to direct sunlight at any point.
  • We do not take responsibility for spelling errors or incorrect details once the cake has been signed off by the client. Different sponges and fillings are made with various recipes; hence, textures and flavours may vary.
  • Complaints about the cake must be made upon collection or delivery, or evidence must be provided during a personal meeting to determine if a refund is applicable.
